MTRS Student and Family Update

January 22, 2021

Dear Students and Families,

Good Afternoon! This coming week we approach a new phase of learning at MTRS: our hybrid learning model! We are excited to welcome our students into the building and look forward to working with them in person. With that being said, there will be lots of new procedures and expectations to learn and we appreciate your patience as we launch this new way of doing school. Please continue to send your questions our way and please take time to read through the information provided below. If you missed our Facebook LIVE event this week, you can rewatch it here:

Hybrid Learning Model

  • If you are participating in hybrid/in-person learning, please review the MTRS Protocols for Learning Handbook.

  • For the majority of students, cohorts were determined by last name. However, adjustments were made for blended families and child care. If this is the case for your family and the cohort is different from what is shared below, the main office will reach out to you. Information on cohorts will also be shared out during advisory. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

    • Cohort A - Monday/Tuesday in person - Last Name A-H

    • Cohort B - Thursday/Friday in person - Last name I-Z

  • UPDATED Bus routes: If you identified a need for bus transportation, the routes have been updated. Please see the updated routes posted on the district website at

  • Hybrid Schedule:

    • Students will be assigned into three cohorts: A, B or fully remote.

    • Cohort A will attend in person on Monday and Tuesday.

    • Cohort B will attend in person Thursday and Friday.

    • Wednesdays will be fully remote (exception WiFi hub students).

Lunch Pick Up

  • If you are participating in our drive through lunch pick up program, starting next week, the start time will shift to 11:45AM and end at 1PM.

Trimester 1 and 2 Materials

  • High school students please return textbooks or other materials you no longer need- we need these back for other students to access! Materials can be dropped off in the blue bin outside the main entrance.

  • If you did not collect materials this week, please call the main office to schedule a time. For high school hybrid students you will get your materials next week. Please remember to check in the main office for any Class 3 materials you may need since you will not have this class in person.

  • 7th and 10th grade students who have not picked up their new Chrombook, please call the main office to schedule a time for pick up.

  • IMPORTANT: If you moved from hybrid to remote this week and did not come to pick up materials, please check in with classroom teachers to see if there are materials to be collected. Classroom teachers will be asked to bring materials to the main office for students who made changes to their status this week.

Wednesday, Jan. 27 is a late start day. Below is the schedule:
