I hope you all are having a wonderful Mother's Day! It was so nice to watch the students draw portraits of you and to write the All About Mom activity. I hope they served you breakfast in bed as I suggested!
Shockingly, we only have 8 school days left!
We are finished with all tests in my room other than makeup tests!!

This week we will learn about Helen Keller. We will read Helen Keller, by Jane Sutcliffe in class and will complete biography activities and a timeline. We will watch a brainpop video early in the week and will end the unit by watching The Miracle Worker from 1962!
Everyone will learn how to spell " doll, cake, and water" using the manual alphabet the way Helen did. We will discuss the obstacles Helen faced as a child and as an adult. We will discuss some of the challenges she overcame and how she became a celebrated author and activist.
Experiment….Students will have to fingerspell "water" when they want water.
We will have cake on Friday. Students can have a small piece if they can fingerspell "cake"
We will learn how to read the Braille alphabet.
