This Week's Snapshot...

The school year is almost done! During success time today, students shared how they showed HOPE throughout the year. It was great to hear about their love of their teachers and how they persevered throughout the year. If you get a chance, check it out on Facebook!

This will be the final newsletter for this school year. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your child's education this year! I feel truly blessed that I actually get to do this job every day. As we look forward to next school year, I wanted to share a few things with you. First is our new vision for Stephen Decatur moving forward:

We will become a model campus characterized by an environment that is:

• Calm

• Safe

• Positive

• Purposeful

• AND FUN!

Students, families, and staff will be invested through respectful relationships and a thirst for learning.

We will be striving very hard to achieve this and I know with your help, we can! As we strive for this, we will be launching a new school-wide system that will reward positive behavior, allowing kiddos to earn Excellent Eagle cash to spend at the Excellent Eagle store which will include items as well as experiences. We can't wait to share more of this with you at the start of next school year!

Here are the remaining events for the rest of the school year:

  • May 23; School-wide Field Day.
  • May 25; Last Day of School, Awards & 6th Grade Graduation (More Info below!)

Until Next School Year,

Mrs. Gordon
