SELF-REGULATION SKILLS GUARANTEED TO HELP YOUR STUDENTS
7 important ideas for teaching self-regulation skills in the classroom: Help your students to develop self-control and self-esteem!
We often need resources and ideas for those students in our classrooms who haven’t yet learned certain social and emotional skills. For instance, students especially need help with self-regulating their emotions and managing their behavior. As teachers, we can step in and give them the tools and resources necessary for social and emotional success and development.
Teaching a classroom of children involves many moments of joyful exchange with different personalities. Taking part in shaping young beings is a privilege and an adventure in itself. The challenge lies with the wide range of social-emotional skills that each child possesses. You may find some that haven’t been taught how to self-regulate or manage their emotions and behaviors.
Here are some things you can do with your whole class to teach and model social-emotional skills. Use these ideas for teaching kids to self-regulate in the classroom. Click here...

Words of Wisdom
Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.
~ Helen Keller
Negativity is such an energy drain, isn't it? It spirals into anxiety and fear and judgement. Seems logical that we should just keep our faces to the sunshine, but life doesn't always make that an easy choice for us. We can't always choose our situation, but we can choose how we respond to it. It may be something we don't like or don't have control over but remember this: You don't have to like the situation to find a positive solution for handling it. And it's a teaching opportunity. When we find something positive even in a negative situation, we teach our students that good can often come from bad.
With something to think about . . .
Remember to take care of yourself.
Next time something gets under your skin, look for a positive spin on the situation. Notice your overall feeling after choosing to not get upset.
Happy Birthday!
