Specialist Spotlight: Art
The fourth graders have been very busy creating beautiful cut paper collages with our artist in residence, Mr. Giles Laroche. Mr. Laroche is a well known children's book author and illustrator.
The students are creating colorful birds and fish using new art techniques taught to them by Mr. Laroche. The students are studying the birds and fish of the Northeast region of the United States as part of their Social Studies curriculum. Their finished pieces are amazing.
Each student completed a fish that will be used to create a series of collaborative art pieces that will hang in our main lobby. The student's second piece, a bird ,will be displayed at the Page School Annual Art Show and then taken home by the students.
This incredible opportunity to work with Mr. Laroche was funded by the Page School PTO and we are all so grateful to them.
