PTA Coat Drive
From Mrs. Del Re: PTA is promoting a coat drive that will be running through Oct 6th. The hope is to collect new or gently used winter coats to distribute to students that are in need of a warm coat. Collection boxes will be outside of the office through Friday. Thanks!

What we are learning in Room 12...
If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - Students have been using the CUBES strategy to solve word problems. This week we will review for our upcoming unit test (after the 3-day weekend). Please contact me for extra practice sheets about multiplication/division and I will send the sheets home with those who request it.
- Reading - We will read The Name Jar this week and analyze the story elements such as characters, setting, and plot.
- Writing/Spelling - This week the spelling word pattern is "three letter blends." The words will be in the back of the yellow take-home folder and the test will take place on *Thursday.* Your child will have 5 "personal word list" words. In writing class, we are learning about different types of sentences and how to combine sentences.
- Science - The students will learn about natural resources/energy for the next few weeks with Mrs. Kerscher!
