The meeting will be in person and a translator will assist.
Parsons celebrates Black History Month
Though it began as just a week-long celebration in 1926, President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” Well, we 'seized" the opportunity at Parsons by hosting our 2nd Annual Black History Month Door Decorating Contest. Each classroom was challenged to create a door presentation that honored the theme, "A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture". Doors were judged on their creativity, attention to theme, student participation, and design. It was not an easy feat for our 6 judges because all 30 doors were worthy of acknowledgement. BUT, two doors stood out and the winners of the 2022 Black History Door Decorating Contest are Mrs. Melt's 4th grade class (First Place) and Mrs. Kennedy's Music class (Second Place).
A big thank you to all 6 of our door judges:

Birthday Celebration Policy
Just a reminder of our birthday celebration policy. This can be found in our Student/Parent Handbook as well.
Birthday Celebrations
Because of allergies, students wishing to have a treat for their class should use the Ice Cream plan. This plan provides ice cream for every student in the class for $1 per student. Birthday parties are not allowed at school. Balloons, flowers, etc. cannot be delivered to children at school or taken home on the bus. Party invitations may not be distributed at school.
If you will ask the teacher how many students are in the classroom, you can send in money and let the teacher know which day that week you would like to purchase ice cream for the entire class in honor of your student's birthday. The students all get to choose which ice cream they would like and they receive it at lunch that day. Thank you for your understanding.
