Have a Great Weekend!
Thanks for a great week back from the long break. Thanks for the way you've handled dismissal and scanning all of our students as they leave the building. Thanks for making kids feel welcome and loved. Thanks for smiling, sharing, laughing, and talking. Thanks for all that you do!
You have earned a relaxing weekend. Be safe. Do something you enjoy. See you Monday.
Saturday, January 11 - Lights and HVAC
January 11 is a district approved Saturday to have lights and HVAC available on campus. We have put in a work order to have them on at Bush from 7:00 to 4:00.
If you decide to come to Bush Saturday, please consider the weather. In the event the situation requires us to close the building, I will send an email tonight or tomorrow morning. If you are planning to come up to school tomorrow, please check your email Saturday morning before heading to the Bush.
Welcome Kaley Baum
I asked Kaley to share a few things she'd like everyone to know.
- Kaley grew up in The Woodlands and went through CISD schools.
- She graduate from Sam Houston State University.

- She did her student teaching at a "really amazing elementary school."
- In college, she worked teaching color guard.
- She traveled the country for four summers performing in Drum Corps International.
- She's a Disney addict, a stress baker, and excited to be at Bush.

Phone Calls Home
If you call a child's home and do not get an answer, please leave a voicemail. It can be as simple as, "This is _____ from Bush Elementary. I am calling about your child. Everything is fine, but please call me at 936-709-1600."
When parents get a phone call from the school and there is no message they often get nervous and think it is an emergency. Also, it will help us find out who the parent needs to talk to when they can the school and say, "Someone from the school called me."
ACTION REQUIRED: Computer Replacement
The Technology Department is in the process of replacing teacher computers and older student computers. Bush has been selected for the first phase of the replacement process. All teacher computers will be replaced. You must remove all of your files from your desktop. They should be stored on your U: drive. Any files left on your computer when it is replaced will be lost.
We do not have the exact date for computer replacement, but we will be notified in advance.

Reminder: Attendance Audit
District internal auditors will begin conducting audits of attendance documents and procedures after the break. Please remain focused on taking accurate attendance at the specified time. If you have questions about attendance, please check with Brenda or Jarod.
Remember that attendance drives funding. We need to be accurate, and we need to be on time. As we discussed earlier this year, the district can lose funding if attendance is taken at the incorrect time. Our attendance time is 9:00 each morning.
Reminder: Wednesday Afternoon Meeting Schedule
The Guiding Coalition recently discussed our Wednesday afternoon meetings and decided the following schedule will be used beginning in January.
