Principal's Message
We did it, and you were a big part of IT! Many of you were not at graduation, but I want to share the message I gave families during the commencement ceremony.
It is especially important this year to acknowledge our parents and families. In the last year and a half, your lives, as well as those of your children, have been turned upside down. You became teachers, counselors, key communicators, entertainers, chief cooks-and-bottle-washers, all while working at home yourselves and worrying about your family’s health. You had to make the difficult decision of whether to have your children continue in CDL or return to in-person learning. Whichever decision you made was the right one for you and your family. As a school system, we didn’t always do things perfectly, but thank you for continuing to support us while you were supporting your children. On behalf of all of us, THANK YOU!
Thank you for making me feel welcome. I wish the best for you and your children as we return to a more normal school environment next year. Have a wonderful summer and stay well!
Sincerely,
Janice Adams

Summer Reading Lists
Summer is almost here, and that means it's reading time!ISB English classes require students to read independently over the summer, and each year has specific requirements. Reading lists can be found on our website (see links below). Please refer to these lists when determining what to read this summer. Students must complete their summer reading by the first day of school.
High School Reading Lists:
isb.beaverton.k12.or.us/academics/summer-reading-assignments-grade-9-12
Middle School Reading Lists:
isb.beaverton.k12.or.us/academics/summer-reading-assignments-grade-6-8
More Reading Opportunities
Summertime is a time for rejuvenation, play, and READING! Students at ISB are expected to come to school in the fall having read at least one book from the summer reading lists. But why stop there? Here are some ways to make an already fun activity, even more fun!
Participate in the Beaverton City Library Teen Summer Reading Program.
Participate in any (or all) of the Washington County Cooperative Library Reading Programs.
Create a book club with some of your friends or neighbors.
Digital Summer Access
Students can stay connected to learning this summer by engaging in interactive digital activities. The Digital Summer Access Website has tools for reading, math, science, and more.
Students will need their BSD username and password to access many of these.
