Accomplishments
Peter the Great had many military accomplishments but when he started off the military was very unorganized, it was basically just a group of villages grouped together with the same mindset and army. They didn't have much equipment and training but that all changed when he created the first standing army in Russia. They were heavily trained and equipped. This was a major accomplishment for him and the people of Russia. At about the same time Peter the Great founded the first Russian Navy. This was major for him improvement for him, this is because the Russians didn't have a warm water port in till St. Petersburg was founded. The military accomplishments were important to Russia because they expanded Russia's Empire, could defend the empire better, and more military victories from the Russian Navy, they captured the Ottoman City in 1695
