NCCVT MISSION
To provide superior Career and Technical Education enabling all students to achieve their aspirations.
CTE Prime
Skills USA competitions continue to define February. Nikkie Bowe, St. Georges' ECE teacher, also does a fantastic showcasing her program and students on social media.
Weekly Brief
1. We are looking to establish a K-12 Teacher Academy at Howard. We recently were approved by DEDOE and are now in the very early stages. Colleen and Jack are developing a CTE calendar that we be used to guide our work regarding CTE programs. The calendar will cover everything from CTE data collection to program revisions.
2. I met w/ Luke Rhine from DeDOE this week to emphasize the need to for the state and us to draw clearer lines between our CTE programs and the pathways.
3. Attended the Wilmington Community Advisory Council. Again, this council's mission is dedicated to ending the youth violence in the city.
4. The Celebrations of Champions was a really great way to celebrate our football teams. After the brief ceremony, Hodgson and Howard basketball game was played at the 76ers Field house. We briefly discussed looking into having a Vo-Tech Basketball Day there next year by having our teams play one another. The facility is quite impressive.
Every day we all have a lot going on. Working hard and performing at a high level is required by everyone to be effective and for the district to operate at an optimal level. I want to thank Andy and MaryBeth for all they do. All of the extra events require buses and as we all know , we have a shortage of drivers. We also have accidents and issues that happen frequently. Below is a picture of a HVT bus (please don't distribute) that was in an accident. Thankfully, no students were injured, but Andy is always on top of these situations.

Up Ahead: Visits & Athletics
- Admin Workshop this Thursday. We will continue our study of Speed of Trust. Jerry, Christine, & Mike P. will lead us through Behaviors 8 –Confront Reality through 13 --Extend Trust and the action plan. We will finish the book the next admin workshop. Remember, you can add key thoughts to out padlet. I know most of you have finished the book already, which is great. The benefit of covering a book over the course of several months is to work on it changing our behavior and how we lead.

- Upcoming on the 20th and 27th at Hodgson and Delcastle respectively, we will host some legislators and have them visit some our Skills USA competitions. This is in our continual effort to help the greater community know the uniqueness of our schools and district.
- On Friday, the Twin Poets and Lisa Blunt Rochester will visit HHST.
- I'm going to attend UD's ESports Arena Grand Opening. This may be something we consider for our students as well.
- Winter sports are coming to an end, with the championship side of the month looming. Best of luck to all our teams!
