Maplewood Memo
June 14, 2023
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Greetings Maplewood Families,
I can’t believe this is the last Maplewood Memo of the 22-23 school year! This year was so amazing in so many ways. What stands out to me are the many opportunities we have had as a community to connect: Brinner, Auction, Carnival, Picnic and so on… Thank you to all of you for showing up and making the choice to be part of Maplewood’s school community. I know it can be hard to do with all the things to juggle. Thank you! I look forward to many more of these events in the future.

Reading Results hires people from the community to be trained and become tutors in the school. Here is more information: Reading Results is hiring tutors for next year! They have openings for community members to work as part-time, paid tutors next year. Reading Results is looking for tutors who are: driven to support student success, critical thinkers and ready/willing to learn (coachable), racially, ethnically and/or culturally reflective of your students. Here is the LINK for more information and an application – apply ASAP for priority consideration!PARENTVUE RACE UPDATE
As we look at our school assessment data, we noticed that there are many students whose race is not correctly recorded in our system. Please be sure to update this information asap so our data reflects our true demographics.

FACE OF MAPLEWOOD
A big thank you to Katie Unger for taking on the role of FACE for Maplewood. HERE is more information about Face. In a nutshell, it is "FACE is a great opportunity for family members, parents, and caregivers to participate in conversations about PPS' educational program. Each PPS school has the opportunity to select one family member to represent their community. We recommend that this person is selected from your School Site Council, but they can also be a family member from the broader school community. Participation is a one year commitment."STAFF NEWS
