Key News for Families
April 2, 2020
Coronavirus Updates
Due to the Governor’s Safer at Home order, the district office and all school grounds remain closed until April 24.
In our March 26 communication to families, we shared lots of important information including:
Information about our school closure
Free meals available to MASD children
Chromebooks or hotspot access for families in need
Our attendance policy
How parents can pick up items their children may need from school
A review of all of this information and more can be found in our March 26 update to families.
Also, you can view our Digital Learning Day Guide for Parents for information about student learning during our closure. Please note that at our elementary grades we will slowly begin adding new learning for our students beginning next week. At first, our teachers will begin adding literacy instruction. Our hope is to add math the following week. We want to keep our children learning, but honor and respect the major disruption this has caused for all our families.
Finally, our monthly attendance emails were sent out in error yesterday. Families should disregard those emails. We apologize for the confusion.
Parent Digital Learning Survey
We would like parent feedback around our initial digital learning days. We realize that this has been an unexpected and new experience for everyone and hope that we can use input from our families to improve the process moving forward. Please click below to access the grade level surveys that match the grade level of your child or children.
Resources from Student Services
MASD student services staff has prepared resources and information about how they can support our children during this extended closure. Click here to learn more about resources they have provided and how you can contact them to learn more.
