FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
It's been a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to all those who made this week possible. And to our teachers and staff: how blessed we are to have you serving our school's mission and our students. It is an honor and a privilege to see the tremendous work you do in our classrooms each and every day!
As communicated via email earlier today, the Family Fun Night scheduled for this evening has been rescheduled to next Friday, May 13th due to weather. The dedication of the new Learning Center will also be postponed to the 13th. The good news is, postponing the event allows us to also open up the RSVP to more families.
Weren't able to join us this Friday, but interested in attending next week? You can still RSVP by completing the form here: https://bit.ly/FJVDFamilyFunNight. Please note, if you already RSVP'd for this Friday, you do not need to RSVP again - your spot (and food!) is still reserved! Not able to join us due to the change in date but already RSVP'd? Drop an email to Mrs. Marra at jennmarra@fjvd.org to let us know! All RSVPs are due by Tuesday, May 10th.
Summer Camp Registration - Due by Friday, May 13th
You can find the complete details for Summer Camps, including links to the registration form by clicking here. We're thrilled to be able to offer eight weeks of camps for all ages and interests! Please note, the deadline for registering for summer camps is Friday, May 13th.
Open House - Monday May 9th
A final reminder that our last Open House of the 2021-2022 academic year is Monday, May 9th from 5:00pm-7:00pm. If your middle school student would be interested in serving as a student ambassador at the Open House, they should see Mrs. Marra as soon as possible. Thank you for helping to spread the word!
Please note, Monday, May 9th is also an Early Dismissal Day. Students will be dismissed at 1:30pm.
Uniform Ordering - Participate in Bulk Ordering!
We're pleased to launch our new Uniform Purchasing Program for the 2022-2023 school year, which can be found at the link here: http://fjvduniforms.square.site. In order to address challenges with ordering this past year, we are moving to a bulk ordering system with Donnelly’s for the 2022-2023 school year. Utilizing the link above, families can place orders for Donnelly's uniforms which will then be shipped directly to the school for pick-up. Please note, in order to maintain bulk ordering, orders will be placed with Donnelly's on the 4th of every month. Orders placed after the 4th will be placed in the following month's order.
Staffing Notices
Lastly, please join me in thanking the following staff members who recently announced their plans to move on to new pursuits at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 academic year. We are blessed to have had them on our staff, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors!
Mrs. Black
We were honored to have Mrs. Black serve as our physical education teacher for the past two years. During her time at Father Doyle School, Mrs. Black implemented changes to the curriculum, bringing a health and wellness focused approach to our gym classes. We’re grateful for her work and for the connections she has formed with our students, and we wish her all the best in the future!
Ms. McCarthy
Ms. McCarthy joined Father Doyle School at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning her time here in the fall of 2020. Over the past two years, her creativity, passion, and artistic vision have shined through in her instruction. We wish Ms. McCarthy the very best in her future endeavors!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! God bless, and go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Staff Positive Cases - Week of 5/1-5/7: 2
*Tests completed on-site does not represent the total number of tests performed on all members of the school population, as some testing, including identification of some positive cases, is conducted at state sites.
In addition, rapid tests used to end isolation early are not included in the testing numbers, as these individuals had previously tested positive.
COVID-19 Travel Policies
Current RIDOH guidance states “if you’re traveling to Rhode Island from a location within the United States... you’re not currently required to quarantine or get tested after arrival whether or not you’re vaccinated.” However, to lower the chances of spreading COVID-19 and help mitigate risk within the school community, Father Doyle is requiring students who are not vaccinated who have traveled from a location for vacation or similar extended stay within the United States to submit a negative PCR test taken upon their arrival back in Rhode Island prior to returning to school.
Unvaccinated students choosing not to get tested will be required to quarantine for seven days while monitoring for symptoms before returning to school. Vaccinated individuals do not need to test or quarantine prior to returning to school.

Reduce Waste and Help our School!
Do you have used ink cartridges at home? Father Doyle School is partnering with Planet Green Recycling to recycle use ink cartridges. The best part? This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:

- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
