Leader in Me
This week a review of Habit 2, Begin with the End in Mind. Beginning with the End in Mind is all about having a vision. At Hanawalt Elementary, we create both academic and personal goals. Students identify the habits that will help them achieve these goals. Begin with the End in Mind is important because it causes us to plan ahead for the future!
So what can you do as a family? Begin with the End in Mind! What do you want your family to be like? How do you want others to feel when they enter your home? How do you want to work together, to play together, to help others together? This is your vision! Write down your ideas. Get input from each family member. This is called creating a family mission statement. A family mission statement can be a paragraph or just a few words. It is really about describing your vision for your family.

Volunteer Opportunities
As an organization we are going to move forward as the Hanawalt Community Organization and no longer be the Hanawalt PTA starting fall of 2021! This will include more opportunities for smaller volunteer options. If you’re interested in looking into committee or short-term roles, please contact us at HanawaltElementaryPTA@gmail.com or call/text at 515-664-3737.
Teacher Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation week is May 3rd. Are you a good baker, crafter, designer, creative, or more? If so, you could be a huge asset to the Teacher Appreciation Team! If you are interested or have ideas to show our appreciation the week of May 3rd, please contact us via our email or text above.
