Principal's Message
We miss our PUE students and families. Please click the link above to see our video message from our hearts to yours!
Virtual office hours begin tomorrow so that teachers can support students for 1 hour per day. Teachers may be available in a Google Meet, via email, or over the phone at this time. Virtual office hours may include teachers working with students individually, in small groups, or as a class. Your child’s teacher will communicate the office hours for their class. In addition to office hours, teachers will provide at least two continuous learning opportunities per week. These continuous learning opportunities could include a recording of the teacher facilitating a mini-lesson, a read aloud, or a visual demonstration activity (ex. science). The remainder of time, students will have access to a variety of instructional activities available through Google Classroom, Seesaw, RazKids, DreamBox, Prodigy, or other approved programs. Please note that the school district has changed the year-round calendar. Effective tomorrow, all tracks are in session for remote learning.
UNC TV & NC Department of Public Instruction Partnership
UNC-TV and the NC Department of Public Instruction have established a partnership that will support remote learning with content that will be accessible to students—especially those with limited or no internet access—at no charge.
Each weekday, two blocks of programming on UNC-TV's North Carolina Channel will serve:
Fourth- through eighth-grade students, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
9th- through 12th-grade students, from 1 to 6 p.m. (actual times may vary, please check the weekly schedule online here).
For PreK through third grade, UNC-TV's 24/7 “PBS KIDS” channel -- Rootle -- will continue providing programming appropriate for that age group.
These educational program blocks are available on the North Carolina Channel, available statewide for free over-the-air, through cable providers and streamed online.
