News from 302!
Ms. Katie, Mr. Shawn, and Ms. Lesley
Camping Trip this Week!
1) Students who usually bring their own lunch MUST pack their lunch for Wednesday. If your student receives school lunch then a bagged lunch will be provided.
2) We will return Friday at around 2:00. We will follow our regular dismissal procedures on Friday.
3) The weather looks warm, but a little rainy on Wednesday and possibly Thursday so please make sure to pack a rain jacket and water-resistant pants if you have them.
4) Students need to pack a small day backpack with a water bottle and bandana for our time hiking.
5) Students must wear Two Rivers shirts while we are at camp.
6) Old tennis shoes or hiking boots are a good idea for the daytime. Flip flops for evening showers are an even better idea.
7) Students can bring a cell phone, but they will be kept in a ziploc bag in a teacher's keeping. Students will get them back only to make phone calls home between 7:30-8:30 in the evening. Your student does not need to bring a cell phone. They will also be able to make calls home in the evening from a teacher phone, but make sure they know the number that they should call to reach you!
8) Please, if possible, no rolling suitcases! Duffel bags or backpacks are a much better idea as students have to carry them over trails to reach our cabins.
9) Another copy of the packing list will come home tomorrow if you need it!
Our Crew Vision Statement
In Crew 302 we will make helpful mistakes, put in effort to try challenges, and not be afraid to fail. We will be kind to each other, care for each other, and respect each other. We act with integrity and give good feedback. We work as a team to accomplish goals and have a positive classroom.
We will use this statement as the model for our behavior, participation, and interpersonal expectations. Students who are not meeting this crew vision will complete a reflection form that must be signed by a parent and teacher.
Wordly Wise Vocabulary!
Students have already begun working on the vocabulary activities in class, but you can support your student with practice at home by creating flashcards, quizzing, playing vocabulary games, or using the Quizlet resources available below!
All of the Wordly Wise Lessons for Level 5 can be found here on Quizlet.com. This will take you to the word list and activities for each lesson. You may want to bookmark this link on your home computers for students to use.
The Lesson 1 activities and word list can be found here in preparation for our first quiz.
Please reach out to Ms. Katie if you have any questions or concerns!
