Principal's Message
Happy New Year! We had an amazing opening day on Monday, January 3rd. The kids were in awe of the new building, and all that it offers them. I believe the hit of the day was definitely the cafeteria, and all the choices! Staff and students are slowly settling into a routine, and we are putting the new spaces of the building to good use.
Due to our snow day on Friday, January 7th, we will have school on Friday, February, 18th. Please make note of this change.
The end of the marking period is this week. Please work with your child to ensure that they have completed any missing or overdue assignments. Checking Sapphire is an easy way to track your student's progress.
A reminder that we have an early dismissal this Friday, January 14th. Students will be dismissed at 12:30.
Thank you for all your efforts at home in supporting the transition to the middle school. It truly has been an exciting time. Be on the lookout for more information about an opportunity for families to see this amazing facility.
Stay warm!
Mrs. Shelley

Parent Loop Procedures
Thank you for all your work in adjusting to the new processes for drop off and pick up. A reminder to pull up to the far end of the parent loop when stopping so that there is ample room for all cars to load/unload. Also, a reminder to make a right hand turn when exiting the middle school drive in order to keep the flow of cars/busses moving. We appreciate your patience as our community works towards adapting to the new patterns.

Healthy Habits
As we enter peak illness season, it is good to remind ourselves to healthy habits such as:
Practicing proper hand hygiene and to cough and sneeze into our elbows (even if we have a mask on too). Use hand sanitizer when unable to use soap and water. Use lotion to keep nails and skin moisturized and free from cracking.
Nails should be kept trimmed and cleaned underneath from debris.
Practicing good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing teeth twice daily).
Showering daily to cleanse the skin and hair from germs.
Getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night to allow our minds and bodies to “rest and reset”.
Eating a well-balanced with vitamin-rich fruits and vegetables.
Drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily and avoiding sweetened drinks (bacteria and viruses thrive in high blood sugars). Please remember to send a water bottle with your child each day.
Dress appropriately for the weather. Irritated nasal passages make way for germs to enter and cause infections.
