Robotics

The Sylvan Learning Center will be doing an after-school presentation on Robotics in the Whitney gym on Tuesday, April 26th at 4:00. This is a no-cost hands on Robotics workshop that will use Legos and Robotics to teach principles of Math and Science. Look for a permission slip in the main office after Spring Break. Please understand that parents will need to provide transportation to and from the activity. Parents are invited to come in and watch!

The workshop will be managed and supervised by Sylvan Learning Center staff. For more detailed information about their Robotics program, click here. Please be advised that Sylvan is a business and the link article contains information about services that are NOT free. This article and this program are not an endorsement of Sylvan services. It is included to provide information for you to make a decision about participation in our free after-school program on April 26th.

Whitney Carnival

The Wild, Wonderful, Wacky Whitney Carnival will be held Friday, April 1st from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. This family event includes games, activities, food and prizes for kids of all ages. All activities at the carnival require tickets. Tickets can be ordered pre-sale (at a reduced rate) or purchased at the door. We do ask that all students are accompanied by an adult to this family event. Thank you for your cooperation. Follow this link for the pre-sale ticket order form: http://strongnet.org/cms/lib6/OH01000884/Centricity/Domain/841/Whitney%20Carnival%20Advance%20Tickets%202016.pdf

As always, we need MANY volunteers to make this event a success. Fortunately, we have many middle and high school students commit to volunteering. However, we still have a few positions that must have an adult chaperone. Please consider signing up for one of the following:

-Making cotton candy (adults only)

-Making sno cones (adults only)

-Monitoring the bounce house (adults only)

-Counting prize tickets (can be an adult or student)

-Helping students pick out prizes in the redemption center (can be an adult or student)

Please contact Karen Kantzes at 440-238-9754 or kantzesfamily@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering. You can also check out our Sign-Up Genius site to sign-up for a specific job. Here's the link to sign-up to volunteer: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040e4daaaa23a20-whitney
