Principal Checklist and Instructional Focus
As you start checking things off of your checklist, start thinking about how you are going to connect different systems together, i.e., PLC structures/protocols, tiering for teacher support, campus instructional look-fors, feedback systems, etc. I will send more information about lesson plan requirements and the walkthrough instrument as soon as I can
Area Meeting Resources
Thank you for your time and engagement in the area meeting yesterday. I understand it is difficult being off campus, so I appreciate your conversations and reflective comments. Here are a few resources that were shared:

Staffing and Current Vacancies
We have an unusually high level of teacher vacancies for this time of year. If you still have vacancies on your campus, please send me a quick email before Monday so I have an idea of what levels of support we need to consider for different campuses.
Update on iStation & Think Through Math
The Intervention Department is in the process of securing funding for programs that the state no longer provides due to discontinuation of the Texas Success Initiative (SSI). RFPs have been posted, and they are in the review stage of the selection process with vendors. Principals will be notified as soon as possible regarding the status of program availability.
T-TESS Certification
New Assistant Principals need to be T-TESS certified before they can assist with the appraisal process, and the cost is covered by the state for all appraisers of record. See the Region 10 website for upcoming courses.
You should receive the materials for training your staff in the next day or two.
True North Logic
Organizational Learning will schedule open labs throughout the first semester to support principals and assistant principals. In addition, once the walkthrough tool is developed in TNL, area directors and IDF’s will be trained and available to support campus implementation.
