Silver Strand Elementary School Week of April 1, 2019
Spotlights and Reminders: Month of the Military Child
REMEMBER we have EARLY RELEASE (WEDNESDAY SCHEDULE) DAYS ON WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, AND FRIDAY THIS WEEK for Parent Conferences! You have been contacted by your child's teacher if a conference has been scheduled.
It's hard to believe we are in our last session of After-School Enrichment Clubs! Click here to see the options for the spring session and directions for signing up!
A Message from the Heart Association: On behalf of the American Heart Association and the millions of Americans we serve, thank you very much for your school's donation of *$780.00. Families and schools are critical links in providing the foundation for cardiovascular wellness in our country. By holding this event at your school each year, you raise awareness about heart-healthy living. And you help us fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts.Thank you. Almost every family in America is touched by heart disease or stroke, and your school's contribution will significantly impact our fight against these devastating illnesses.
We will continue the theme of REGULATION this week: Regulating means checking our bodies and minds, identifying feelings, and adapting our approach (tone, activity/energy) to the environment we are in. Adapting can involve deep breathing, brain breaks, reflections, or quick physical activity. When adapting is difficult we may need help sorting through emotions or releasing energy and it‘s important for us to communicate to others how we are feeling.
