Legislator Teacher for the Day
Through a campaign initiated by the North Carolina School Boards Association, our state legislators have been invited to take part in an opportunity to be a Teacher for the Day in one of our schools. This initiative will give our legislators an opportunity to see what it is like to be in a classroom and witness the everyday challenges our educators experience.
Representative Phil Shepard has accepted our invitation and will be serving as the Teacher in Richard Mason's Civics and Economics class at Southwest High School on Monday, February 8th. You are welcome to stop by Southwest High School on Monday and visit the classroom as Representative Shepard leads our students. The school day will begin at 7:14 am with first period, 2nd period begins at 8:50 am and third period begins at 11:18 am. If you would like to visit, check-in at the school office and you will be directed where to go.
