Please take this survey if you haven't already to let us know if your senior will attend our in-person graduation or attend virtually.

Love Letter From Your Administration

Words cannot express the deep admiration and respect we feel for this remarkable Class of '21! Never in a million years could we imagine having a group of students face the reality of a senior year completely opposite from the one we had all envisioned for them. None of us can truly understand and feel what they have been and are experiencing, but we can all stand back and learn from them. For a Class that is deserving of so much more, this group of teenagers is absent of an attitude of entitlement. How refreshing! We have been impressed at the grace and determination they have shown. Time and time again, as dates have moved, restrictions have lessened and then tightened again, these students have remained committed to forging their path and leaving a legacy behind. We have seen amazing leadership skills develop as they've led clubs, found alternate methods to serve, make an impact through CSI projects, change the life of a freshman through Link Crew, demonstrate commitment and dedication to their sports and arts, and strive for academic excellence. Thank you, Class of '21 for the lesson we've learned from YOU - that no matter what obstacles life throws in our path, at the end of the day, we want to be able to say, "We're Still Standing, Too!"

As soon as they are delivered (before the end of the month), we will notify you of our distribution process. We look forward to seeing these signs proudly displayed as we drive through town. No one deserves celebrating more than our 2021 graduates...They're still standing and making us all stand back in awe!

The link for tickets is below. Tickets are on sale from April 26-May 7th or until we sell out. Read the permission form carefully. Once you purchase a ticket, this form must be submitted to ASB or emailed to Ashley.rotellini@simivalleyusd.org.

"A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS"

Join us for Senior Prom - a formal senior dinner and socially-distanced dancing at the "Hotel of the Stars" - The Sheraton Universal Hotel on May 15th from 6:00-9:00 pm with check in beginning at 5:45.

Tables will seat a socially distanced group of six, and students will have their choice of entrée: Sautéed breast of chicken with lemon butter chive sauce; Prime rib of beef au jus with creamy horseradish sauce; or a vegetarian option. Each entrée will also include a seasonal green salad, fresh vegetable and starch, fresh rolls & butter, and a choice of double chocolate mousse or cheesecake for dessert. Soft drinks, coffee, and tea are also included. Dinner will be served to each individual at their table, a DJ will be playing favorite songs (we will send out a request form soon), and between courses, we will have a table game, and then socially distanced dancing. Students must wear masks except for when they are seated at their tables eating.

The event will take place outside under the stars, and in order to be admitted to the event, students must provide proof of COVID vaccination or a negative COVID test result to ASB by Friday, May 14th at 1 PM. Please take your COVID test late Tuesday or early Wednesday to ensure results are available by Friday. Tests earlier than Tuesday PM will not be accepted. Seniors are permitted to bring an underclassman from Royal, but the county restrictions prohibit bringing any outside guests. Fill out the permission form available above. The link to purchase tickets will be posted at 6 AM on Monday, April 26th.

GRAD NIGHT SEE INFO ABOVE...NOT AFFILIATED WITH SVUSD

This is not Universal Studios' normal Grad Bash celebration. Instead they’ve created an all new celebration offer for the Class of 2021 and their families, all within the state guidelines.

In order for our seniors to be able to purchase tickets, they’ll have to purchase directly from Universal with their student email address. This is to ensure that the general public doesn’t have access to buy this ticket offer and it can stay only to the high schools that were reserved.

Our seniors and staff will be able to purchase tickets for themselves and their families, as long as they are California residents and their party size is no more than 3 households comingling. This celebration was created for the seniors and their families to enjoy themselves at the Park.

Please note that Royal has been placed on an approved list of participating schools, but this is not a school sponsored event. Other than providing the information to our seniors, the liability and release forms and exchange of money will all be handled directly between the seniors and their families and Universal Studios.

Senior Sunset Picnic & Movie Night

Many senior classes have started their year with a Senior Sunrise, but the Class of 2021 will be the FIRST class to finish their year with a Senior Sunset! This is an event for RHS seniors ONLY and will take place on the Practice Field behind ASB. Seniors will bring their picnic dinner with their beach chairs, blankets, and pillows starting at 7 PM on Friday, May 28th to eat socially distanced in their own space (or with a small group of friends) and watch the sunset. At 8:00, we will pass out popcorn & treats, and watch a preselected movie on our giant blow-up screen.

SENIOR AWARDS

June 1st at 6:00 PM, our senior awards where we recognize seniors for their superior accomplishments will be virtual. An invitation and link will be sent to all awardees the week before the event.

GRADUATION REHEARSAL, PIZZA, & CAP & GOWN DISTRIBUTION

All graduates must attend graduation rehearsal on June 2nd. Mandatory rehearsal will be from 9-11 AM followed by a senior lunch, and pick up for graduation tickets and cap & gowns & awards. Graduates MUST wear a cap and gown for graduation, so please refer to the graduation section below if you still need to order.

GRADUATION JUNE 3

We are excited to announce that graduation will be in person! It will be on Thursday, June 3 at 6 PM in the stadium. Each graduate will be allowed four tickets for immediate household members only. The graduates attending in-person will be issued four tickets per graduate at cap and gown pick up on June 2. In order to be "cleared" for their tickets, students must have been cleared of financial obligations at ASB, cleared with the Library, and have submitted the COVID graduation protocol agreement stating the following:

1. No one in your party is an out-of-town guest

2. You will wear a mask the entire time in the stadium

3. You will self-screen for COVID symptoms prior to arriving at the event and stay home if you

have any symptoms.

4. You will submit to random temperature screenings upon entry to the stadium

5. You will maintain required physical distancing of 6 ft. from all other attendees not from

your immediate household

6. You will leave campus immediately following the ceremony

This acknowledgment will be emailed at the end of May to the primary email address in Aeries for each graduate attending in-person.

Graduation will be livestreamed for those who are either uncomfortable or unable to attend. Those graduates who opt not to attend in person, will still have their name read and their picture shown on a giant LED screen.

More details will be added as we get closer to the event! For now, make sure you have ordered your cap and gown from jostens. The cost is $45, and time is of the essence, so order today. If this is a hardship, please contact our office manager, Harriet Hunsaker for assistance. We can help, and it will be kept confidential. If you need to purchase single items such as a tassel, stole, or cap, please contact Josten's at 805-987-4147. All items will be delivered to students during our Cap & Gown Distribution on June 2 after graduation rehearsal.

All students graduating in person are required to wear Josten's green graduation cap and gown.

DIPLOMA PICK UP & PHOTOS

Graduates will return to campus on Friday morning, June 4th between 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Students will be staggered by alpha in 15 minute increments to pick up their actual diploma (they only receive the diploma cover at graduation) and take pictures at three step-and-repeat locations. Because CDPH guidelines mandate that graduates and families immediately evacuate the campus after the graduation ceremony, this will also be an opportunity to say goodbye and take a photo with their favorite teachers & staff.

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION

Due to the pandemic, the distribution date will be sometime in July. It was an agreed-upon decision between the high schools that every effort would be made to include any events that happened on campus. Usually, the yearbook is completed in March and as many of you know, that is when things really got started. This allowed for sports and other events from Simi and Royal to be included in the book (Santa Su is doing an online version of a magazine type publication that will have an option to print, so they will have an earlier release date since Simi and Royal have very detailed books with a hardcover).

THE GOOD NEWS is now for the first time ever, these final senior year-end events will be included in the yearbook.

The actual date will be given later as that depends on restrictions and the abilities of the publishing plant that makes our yearbook.

Thanks for your continued patience and we are excited that we will be able to add something new to this yearbook considering the circumstances. A BIG shout out to our yearbook class and advisor, Mr. Lev!
