First Day Procedures
1. All learners that have gone through schedule pickup will begin the day in a homeroom period, which is identified by the alphabetical lists, posted in the gym hallway, Student Services North and the pit.
- Learners who did not come to schedule pickup will report to the large gym to go through the schedule pickup procedure.
- Learners with dual credit in the morning or release periods 1st &/or 2nd (grades 11 & 12 only) will report to the Large Gym to get their schedules (whether or not they came to schedule pickup)
2. Teachers will retrieve from their mailboxes (prior to homeroom) a manila envelope with all the necessary material for homeroom.
3. Each homeroom teacher will remove the folder from the envelope, and follow the instructions included within.
- Take attendance on attached roster.
- Mark whether or not they need an iPad to be checked out to them. (Very important!)
- Pass out schedules to learners (encourage them to take a picture of the schedule).
- Pass out IDs included in the plastic bag, and note their receipt of it on the roster.
- If there is a hall pass in lieu of an ID, send the learner to the gym for a picture.
- If there is a note to see the nurse in lieu of a schedule, mark the learner present, and send him or her to the clinic (the schedule is there).
- Return any extra schedules to the folder and any extra IDs to the baggie.
- Return the folder to the manila envelope.
4. While the homeroom process is occurring, all learners will reset their network password. To display written instructions:
- Go to www.tinyurl.com/CISDpasswordreset
- On any device, navigate in a web browser tohttp://accounts.coppellisd.com/
- Learners will use their CISD username, e.g. abc2345. (initials/last 4 digits in ID number)
- Password will be cisd12345 (the letters “cisd” followed by the learner’s specific five-digit student ID number)
5. Finally, wait for the manila envelope with all extras to be picked up by an administrator or counselor.
Your manila envelopes will be in your box before the end of the day on Friday. Please do not take the envelopes home with you!

ESL Certification Information
From Mr. Jasso:
I email to provide you with information related to our ESL certification discussion in the English Department meeting this morning. A reminder that CISD is moving towards improved service for ESL students through English instruction. This means that new hires, as well as current staff, will be required to obtain ESL certification by the Spring of 2017. CISD will pay for one exam fee for each teacher impacted (you can elect to take the digital test). The cost of updating your certification status with SBEC would be paid by the teacher, however. Below are resources to help you learn more about this certification and resources to help you prepare for this exam.
We will pursue face to face training for interested teachers and provide that time and date when available. Thank you again for your positive attitude (and the Diet Cokes)!
