Kingdom of Kush

There were two time periods in which the Kushites thrived; the Napatan period (1000-310 BCE) and the Meroitic period (275 BCE-350 CE).
The Kushites 25th dynasty was brought to an end when the Assyrians expelled them from Egypt, ending the Napatan period. The Meroitic period began after 300 BCE when the royal cemetery was moved to Meroe, making it the capital of the "Kingdom of Kush"
Mining was also a popular occupation, most people hunting for gold. When they found it they would make it into jewelry and wear it to show power an wealth in the community.
Legend has it that the Kushites were the oldest race on Earth and Nubia is regarded by many as the location of the Garden of Edin.
"Cult animals" were very important to the religion; cows and elephants were two of the main "holy" animals. The kushites would make offerings of food and drink to the gods and and the dead.
