As this is the last broadcast of the 2021-22 school year, I wish to thank each and every one of you for your support throughout the school year. We began with quarantines and mandatory masking and ended with many of our great traditions here at DHS. Throughout, you have understood the rationale for and adherence to rules and regulations that are out of our control. I look forward to next year as we continue to move forward!
Report cards were sent out yesterday and should arrive shortly. In addition, all underclassmen received their TENTATIVE schedule for next year on Friday, June 10th. Please make sure that any schedule changes are made by Friday, July 29th. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child's School Counselor or Assistant Principal sooner rather than later. We have three new school counselors who will begin during the month of July. As a reminder, the counselors and their responsibilities and contact information is as follows:
A - Di Auriel McDermott amcdermott@delranschools.org
Dj - Li Laura Foster lfoster@delranschools.org
Lj - Ro Brittany Cairns bcairns@delranschools.org
Rf - Z Patrick Tonero ptonero@delranschools.org
Each counselor will reach out through Canvas to the students when they begin in district! We are so happy that they will join us and I am looking for great work from each.
In addition to the counselors, we have new support staff joining our team. Mrs. Brock returns as the attendance clerk; however, she will now be at the main office window, greeting all of you! Mrs. O'Leary will be joining us as the main office clerk and can be reached at soleary@delranschools.org or 856-461-6100 x3000. And... Mrs. Stellwag moves from the main office to a newly created position, secretary to the athletic director and nurses. We look forward to seeing everyone thrive in their new positions!
Speaking of next year, we will officially open for students on Wednesday, September 7th! Please keep focused on your email as I will be sending out a Broadcast on or around July 14th and again on or around August 11th.
Here are a few reminders/announcements for the summer months:
Summer Assignments (Link below)
Please do not wait until the last minute to begin working on summer assignments. Click HERE for the summer assignments. They are also located on our website. Also, don't forget about Delran Reads! We have great selections this year and I look forward to discussing the books with your child when they return in September.
Parent Paperwork Sign-Off, Registration, and Athletic Sign-Ups
Last year we began using the Parent Portal for registration and paperwork sign-offs. This process again returns to DHS! The registration and required sign-offs will be open on July 1st! You will be asked to do the following:
- Update your Health Insurance
- Verify your Contacts: If a person is not listed in your contacts, we will not release your child to that person.)
- Documents: We will ask you to certify that you will view the documents provided.
- Questions: We will ask you to answer questions concerning communication, sign-off on the handbook, academic honesty policy, medical information, and a host of other questions.
Please note that any student who has not completed the sign-offs will not be able to be issued a Chromebook... an essential tool for the students. As soon as we go live on July 1st, I will send an email explaining each step and what to do to complete all necessary steps! (I can't do that until we roll over to the 2022-23 school year!)
If you have any questions or require your parent portal sign-in credentials please email Sue O'Leary at soleary@delranschools.org.
In addition, athletic sign-ups will now take place through the Parent Portal. No more FamilyID! Please reach out to Mr. Guidotti for any questions about athletics.
Parking Permits
Parking Permit sign-up will also take place on the parent portal beginning on July 1, 2022.
Once you have registered your student, one of the options on the left hand side is Surveys.
If you click on Survey, you will be able to complete the Parking Permit application.
Please note that permits are only available for Seniors at this time.
We have been notified by Calvary Church that they will be limiting the number of cars in their parking lot beginning next year. I say this to just make you aware of the situation.
Freshmen Orientation
Freshman Orientation will take place on Wednesday, August 24th. Freshman ID pictures will be taken on this date. There will also be a parent orientation on the same day! For those new families, we look forward to welcoming you to Delran High School and into the DHS community. More information about this program will be communicated in July and August!

Counselor Transition
The following message was sent to all students this morning via Canvas:
Good morning to all! I hope that you are enjoying your first full week of summer break!
If your counselor was either Ms. Carey, Mr. Croly, or Mr. Zobel, please note that they are not in this summer nor do they have access to their Canvas account. If you have already messaged them, we have it and will reach out to you in the near future.
Class of 2022: If you have a question about your final transcript, they will be sent today or tomorrow to your college admissions office.
Classes of 2023 and 2023: If you have a scheduling question, your new counselor (NOT Ms. Foster's kids) the new counselors will begin within the next couple of weeks. They will reach out with a welcome message and at that time, you can begin the conversation about the 2022-23 school year.
Thank you all for your understanding as we transition to new counselors.
Sincerely,
Mr. Finkle
