QR Codes
QR CODES ARE ...
short for Quick Response Codes. They let you embed a website, video, email address, contact information, etc into a code that when scanned. It takes the user quickly to that item.
INTEGRATION IDEAS
- Put a QR code up on your projector screen that takes students to a video, website, worksheet, etc. so that they don’t have to type in the URL address.
- Create a link to an answer key so that students can check their answers independently. Make a QR code for each website students go to a lot. Attach them to a ring clip so students can access websites quickly.
- Add QR codes to your Anchor Charts to direct students to videos and/or worksheets. Create a QR code Scavenger Hunt. Make a QR code for each question, place QR codes around your class or school, then students run around scanning the codes and answering the questions.
- Display QR codes on your bulletin board...one for each student so that parents can scan and see (or watch) a piece of their child’s digital portfolio.
Sign into your student Seesaw iPad Cohort account by using the QR Code below.
Activity #1
- Go into Safari, navigate to a website your students go to often.
- Copy the website address (tap and hold a few seconds and the options for selecting, copy, paste, etc will appear).
- Go to www.qrstuff.com, paste the website URL in the box labeled ‘Website URL.’
- Select the color you want for your QR code and click on ‘Download.‘ I usually save the image on my computer and then I can insert that image into any document I want.
- Upload your QR Code to the Seesaw iPad Cohort class.
