Attention Parents of ESOL Students
Mays Chapel is offering an 8-week writing program, designed to improve your child’s English through creative storytelling. The program will meet virtually, starting March 15th, for one hour a week. During this time, former ESOL students will read different material and help students work on developing their own stories.
This program is free of charge and open to any ESOL student in grades 1-5. If you are interested or want more information, visit the website below. To sign up, fill out the Student Application form, which can also be found below. We look forward to seeing your child there! https://sites.google.com/view/sesls-website/home

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Assessment
Mays Chapel students in grades kindergarten - 5 will be taking the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) Assessment. The MAP test is an adaptive achievement and growth test. It creates a personalized assessment experience by adapting to each student’s learning level—precisely measuring progress and growth for each individual student. Although students will be permitted to make up any sessions missed, most students feel more comfortable taking the test with their classmates. The MAP testing schedule is below. Please make every effort to have students at school and on time on test days.

- Grade 1: February 16 and 18
- Grade 2: February 28 and March 2
