PRAYER
Father, I come to you humbly as one of your children. I will stand boldly and courageously knowing that I can cast all of my cares upon You because my life is in Your hands.
IN' JESUS NAME, AMEN.
CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT NOTIFICATION
Your child is now conveniently re-enrolled each year without lifting a finger. Should anything change, all you need to do is schedule an appointment with your child’s principal and complete a withdrawal form before March 15th.
The $240 re-enrollment fee will be billed to your account annually on March 16th.
Tuition will automatically be billed via FACTS.
Failure to withdraw before March 15th will incur a 50% charge of the upcoming school year’s tuition.
Thank you for entrusting your child's education to us. We consider it a privilege to be part of your family's life!

SBA Middle School Dollywood Trip April 24, 2020
Dollywood trip information is below:
You have already paid $60 for this trip in the Activity Fees at the beginning of the school year, which includes transportation, a ticket for the park, and two meal vouchers. If the student is a season pass holder, SBA will owe you a refund of $34 ($26 is used for transportation and meal vouchers). Refunds will be completed by May 1st.
If a parent would like to chaperone, please indicate that as well in Section 1 of the permission slip and submit payment, make check out to SBA (or the season pass number). An adult ticket is $50.00. Payment must be received by March 13th if you want SBA to purchase your ticket.
Students will need money for snacks/drinks and any souvenirs. Snack prices in the park will range from $5 to $10.
Dress code is an SBA t-shirt, Academy length shorts (preferably with pockets), and comfortable shoes that can get wet and stay on during rides. No Flip Flops
Sunscreen is recommended.
Our plan is to leave promptly after homeroom check-in at 8:00am, and we will return to school by approximately 9:00pm, depending on traffic. Students will call parents when we are approximately 30 minutes away from school.
On this trip, we allow students to have cell phones for communication and emergency purposes. If they choose to bring their phones, students will be responsible for their phones and should take precautions as to how they are going to keep them dry on rides. All other electronics need to be left at home.
While the students ride on the bus to Dollywood, the parents will drive or carpool to the park. Parents who attend are given a small group of students to chaperone. Due to this responsibility, we ask that other small siblings do not attend. Also, please do not leave prior to 5:45pm. Students riding home with their parents must be signed out with their homeroom teacher by 5:45pm.
Student behavior will be taken into consideration for students to attend this trip since they will be representing SBA in public. Middle School Administration will notify parents by April 17th if their child cannot attend due to behavioral issues.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Dismissal Reminder for Wednesdays
Some of our students do not know Christ as their Savior and we are focusing on this during our chapel time on Wednesdays at 2:00. This time is an important time each week and we are having many distractions as students are dismissed throughout chapel time.
Students who have to leave for appointments need to be dismissed prior to 2:00 or at the end of the day. I know that you already try to schedule appointments after school, but also know it is impossible some of the time. Please help us with this and just get your child before chapel starts if you need to.
Student Assistance Program and Permission Slip
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a FREE confidential counseling service for our students here at the Academy. SAP counselors are specially trained to provide support, help students explore various issues, and develop health and coping strategies.
In order to take advantage of these services you must do BOTH of the following:
First - As referenced In the first email regarding Legacy’s counseling services, please fill out one Parent Permission Form for each of your children: Legacy EAP Parent Permission Form
Second - To refer your student please fill out the Student Assistance Program (SAP) Referral Form. It is a more descriptive form that goes to the counselors that will be working with the students.
To find the Student Referral Form on the Parent Dashboard:
Go to the Parent Dashboard (parents.Silverdaleba.org or visit www.Silverdaleba.org and scroll to the bottom right-hand side, choosing “For Parents”).
Go to the section that says "Support" and select “Counseling - Student Assistance Program.”
“Student Referral” is clearly listed there.
** Please note that you must first fill out the Parent Permission Form BEFORE a referral is made. If the counselors do not have this document, they will not be able to work with your child. PLEASE SUBMIT ONE Parent Permission Form PER CHILD.
Silverdale Baptist Academy is excited to offer such an invaluable service to you and your child.
Thank you again for partnering with us. We are honored!

Coronavirus (COVID-19): a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
Several things we at SBA are doing to protect our students, families, faculty, and staff:
Additional cleaning services to deep clean our facility
Added more cleaning supplies to each school workroom
Tracking the progress and spread of the illness
Closely following the recommendations of the CDC for schools in regards to the Coronavirus (CDC Guidance for Schools)
Preventative Actions
The CDC recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Stay home when you are sick.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

A child may return to school 24 hours after any symptoms of, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc. are gone, or when the family physician notifies the school in writing that it is safe to do so.
