Fall Party Times
We will be having our Fall Parade and Parties next Wednesday! Thank you to all the parents that have signed up to bring something or help! Please see the times below as a guideline for the afternoon:
2:10 Parent Party Organizers can go back to the classroom
2:25 Parents that are visiting and watching the parade will go to the gym
2:30 Parade Begins. The parade loops around the school and then goes through the gym. We ask that all parents meet in the gym if you want to see the parade.
2:45 (or immediately following the parade) - The Classroom Parties Begin
3:25 Fall Parties End
Please make sure that you do not park in the bus lane in the main drive. Our busses have a difficult time getting in if cars are parked there. Thank you for your assistance!
Fall Costumes Reminder
Reminder
On October 31st, students will have the opportunity to participate in a costume parade and class party. In order to make our school activity appropriate for the school setting, and to ensure a fun, safe, and healthy activity, please note the following policy and guidelines in place at Manchester Park.
Children, their safety, and education are top priority at this school. Because of these concerns, the guidelines listed here should be used as you select the costume your child will wear.
- No blood, guts, weapons or gore.
- No face/body paint should be brought to school eliminating the potential risk of spills and stains. (Costume make-up used to create such details as freckles or whiskers can be worn to school as long as it is not so obvious as to cause
disruptions resulting in distracting students from instruction.) - No costumes are to be worn to school. Please send the costume in a sack. Children will be given time to change into their outfit just before the party begins.
Please know the above guidelines for costumes are not meant to take the fun from this time of year, but are meant to provide boundaries that will allow students to participate in a safe and positive way. Please know we will not be able to allow costumes that fall outside of the above guidelines to be worn and staff reserve the right to have the child remove it if we deem it inappropriate . The Costume Parade will be held at 2:30 and the class parties will be immediately following on October 31st.
Absences
If your child is out, please make sure to contact the office the morning of the absence. Sometimes, teachers might not be able to check their emails throughout the day and therefore it is not communicated with the office.
Parents often inquire about “assignments” for students before or during an absence. If a child has been absent due to illness, instruction on the objectives covered should exist prior to any assignments being completed independently at home. Therefore, it might not be possible for assignments to be sent home in advance of a scheduled absence. Students are allowed a minimum of the same number of days they are absent for illness to make up any missed assignments. Teachers will work with parents in special circumstances that require extended absences due to illness.
Dismissal
Reminder
Please note that the front drive should only be used by our day care vans and busses at dismissal. All car pickup should be done on the South side of our building. If you have a special circumstance, please let us know.
Thank you.
ID’s at the Main Entrance
Reminder
Due to district protocol, all visitors must present a photo ID to the camera at the front door. Whether you have been here multiple times over many years or new to our school family, please plan on having your ID out and ready to show the camera.
All visitors must sign in at the front office. This will be the same at arrival, throughout the day, or dismissal.
Thank you for keeping our children safe!
