We Are Hawks!
Thanksgiving
Irons Family,
As I reflect on the school year, it is hard to recall all of the challenges we have faced while returning students to school! From student ramp-up days and all the apprehension that we could see in our student's eyes to the challenge of conducting in-person and remote learning by our teachers, creating a safe and welcoming cafeteria, or playing that first volleyball or football game. Irons staff, I say thank you for all the hard work, long hours, and dedication you have made to the students of Irons Jr. High. Students, thank you for your understanding, effort, and patience as we make school as normal as possible. Parents, thank you for trusting me to create a safe and orderly environment where you are willing to send your children daily. We are not perfect, and I am sure changes will come, but we are returning to our new normal.
For our parents whose children remain unsuccessful in the remote learning environment, I strongly encourage you to return your children to Irons Jr. High for in-person instruction. As an educator, I cannot sit by and allow students to remain unsuccessful in the remote learning environment. I am confident that with our COVID safeguards in place, all students will be as safe as possible from COVID-19. Please contact Irons if you would like more information about the safety procedures we have in place.
As the Holiday season approaches, there will likely be many opportunities for students to gather outside of school with friends and loved ones. During this time, please express to your child the importance of taking precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks, frequently washing hands, and social distancing. We all must work together as partners to balance the need for social interaction and celebration with keeping our schools open to in-person learning. Our partnership is critical in order to keep students and staff safe and in school throughout the holiday season. Should your child test positive for COVID-19 over the Thanksgiving Break, we ask that you email Irons Jr. High at
contactirons@conroeisd.net so we can provide the appropriate support and make the required notifications.

Message From Coach Patterson and Coach Cote
Coach Patterson
Lady Hawks Volleyball, thank you for all your hard work and dedication this season! I am so proud of the growth as players you all have shown this season. Our record of 24-8 as a program is in the top three seasons of our school history. The future is bright for the Irons Jr. High Volleyball program. We wish all of our 8th grade players success as they move to Oak Ridge High School. Congratulations on a great season.
Coach Cote
We are excited about our upcoming junior high basketball season. According to UIL guidelines, our venues will be limited to no more than 50% capacity, including all participants, coaches, officials, and spectators with appropriate social distancing. Spectators are required to wear face coverings per Executive Order GA-29 and Conroe ISD guidelines. Each participant will receive two tickets for each game. If your family cannot attend a specific event, please notify your child’s coach so that those tickets can be distributed to others. Each ticket holder should present their reserved ticket along with the $2 admission charge to the ticket collector at the gate. Children five years of age and younger will not be required to have an entry ticket. We appreciate your understanding and support of these policies to keep our players, coaches, and spectators safe during these events. We will continue to monitor the attendance at these events and adjust our protocols as needed.
