What We Are Learning This Week:

Writing: Creating a topic list/ Writing using our topic list

Be on the lookout for a topic list homework assignment coming home Monday


Math: Solving word problems within 20, addition and subtraction fluency within 20, understanding the meaning of the equal sign: true or false equations

Science: Exploring how light travels/observations/experiments

Reading: Retelling stories using characters, setting, problem, and solution

Decoding strategies

End of 1st 9 weeks on grade level for 1st grade: Level 4

Spelling: ch,sh,th, wh words

Spelling words: chat,chip,ship,shot,this, that,whip, wham, put, read

Class Needs:

For our science lessons this week, we need at least 12 little flashlights.

If you could have your child send in a flashlight to be used for the week, we would greatly appreciate it. Please label it with their name. It will be kept all week and returned Friday.
