Utica Community Schools Electronic Device Use and Protocol for Statewide Testing

We are coming up into our winter / spring testing season. With that, please note that on testing days (MSTEP / WIDA) students personal devices (phones, apple watches etc.) are to be kept home or will be kept in a secure area determined by the building administrator.

*Students are not allowed to access the device for any testing.

*A student may not access any additional websites or applications during testing.

*No pictures or videos may be taken during testing.

*Students may NOT have Bluetooth headphones during testing.

Students violating this protocol may have their test invalidated and be subject to discipline up to and including suspension or expulsion for violating the District Acceptable Use of Technology Policy and the Student Code of Conduct.

NWEA Reports

NWEA reports are available on Powerschool and are not going to be emailed. Here is how you are able to access those reports: (please see image below)

  • Use a laptop to access
  • Log into Parent Portal of Power School
  • Click the icon for applications (See picture below for box with diagonal arrow)
  • Applications pop out widow will appear with report card and NWEA report

Some of our students will begin the state assessment called the WIDA this week. WIDA MODEL (Measure of Developing English Language) is a suite of English language proficiency assessments for Grades K-12. This state required test provides information that informs instructional planning and other decisions related to students' education. Dr. Gaydos, our English Language teacher sent a note home to all students with more information.
