Parental Choice Program next year~

Beginning school year 2023/24, the plan is to include a limited number of students who qualify for Choice per grade. Preference will go to our current families.

Students living in Milwaukee may qualify for the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP), and those students outside of Milw., may qualify for the Wisconsin Choice Program (WPCP).

These programs allow eligible students to attend WCS in grades K4 to 8th. Choice pays all program tuition and school fees.

New Choice students must provide income documentation showing the family income does not exceed the income limits shown in the table that follows.

I will be sending out a survey via primary family member emails that will allow you to indicate your interest in joining Choice and a simple Yes/No as to whether or not you believe your family may be eligible.

Note: We will continue to offer tuition assistance if it's needed AND your family is not eligible for Choice.

Once we identify Choice eligible families, we will maintain communication regarding application procedures which will begin in February.

We enjoyed seeing almost all of you yesterday for Parent/Teacher conferences.

If you missed it and/or would still like to talk with a teacher, I encourage you to reach out to them directly via email to set a time/date up.

Thanks for collaborating with us in your child's learning.

Packing up the Book Fair~

The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success thanks to all of you!

Sales were around the $3,000 mark, which is very impressive considering our size. Small but mighty! Know that we will receive Scholastic Dollars for our school to make purchases for the library and classrooms. So grateful!

A special note of gratitude to Mrs. Pawlowski, her mom- Mrs. Rollo-Cohen, Mrs. Scharrer-Erickson, Mr. Matson, and Mr. Bryan to setting up, breaking down, and volunteering during the Fair.

Many asked to bring it back in the Spring so I will look into that as we approach that time.

Christmas basket raffle~

Wauwatosa Catholic School is raffling off a large basket to get you ready for the holidays. Wauwatosa Catholic School appreciates your continued support of their important educational mission. Please see Sign-up Genius below.

A new skate of mind~

We pulled our sea legs from under us and put them in skates this past Saturday.

Our next Skate Night is November 12th (6:00 to 9:00pm).

About Skate Nights:

  • You don't have to skate.
  • Skate Nights are open to everyone in the community.
  • Students under 16 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Pizzas are prepared to order- to eat in the cafe or to take with you.
  • There are onion rings and cheese curds too.
  • You can hold a friend's hand while you skate. :)

We are asking every family to sign up to volunteer for 1 to 2 shifts this year.

Here are the dates and the Sign Up Links:

November 12:

January 28:

February 25:

March 25:

In service to others~

Our impressive 5th graders took it upon themselves to organize a bake sale to raise money for abandoned dogs. They chose The Rescue Gang,, because 4th grade teacher, Ms. Carr, often fosters dogs for them. I know St. Francis is proud!

Dia de los Muertos, All Saints' Day, & Halloween~

We have prepared our ofrenda (offering) para el día de los muertos (Day of the Dead). We still have a little room if students want to bring in photos or tokens of remembrance of their beloved, departed relatives to put on the altar. The altar will remain up through Friday, November 4th.

We will also be celebrating All Saints' Day with a school mass at 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 1st. This will take the place of our Weds. mass. All are welcome to join us to pray and enjoy the first graders who will be dressed up like their favorite saint.

On Monday, Oct. 31st (Halloween), students are encouraged to come to school in their Halloween costumes (school appropriate of course) for our Halloween Parade which takes place outside around the block. You will receive separate information from your child's classroom teacher as to whether or not there will be a classroom party.

Have a safe weekend.
