Important Information from District 303

As the first semester comes to a close next Friday, December 18, 2020, we want to provide you with updated information on our response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on our schools, and our plans for the second semester.

Return to In-Person Instruction - January 5, 2021:

Following the three-week adaptive pause across the district, we plan to return to hybrid instruction for students who have selected in-person learning on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

Class or Section Schedule Changes:

At the middle school and high school level, many students will see a change in one or more of their teacher or class sections for the second semester. Student course selections should not change. As students switched from remote to in-person or from in-person to remote, it became necessary to create some new class/course sections and collapse other sections. Revised schedules for middle school and high school students will be posted in our Home Access Center (HAC) by January 4.

School Day:

In-person high school students will return to school on their pre-pause hybrid block schedule on January 5 and will follow that schedule for the first two weeks of January. We continue to explore options for increasing access to in-person learning for high school students while balancing the needs of students participating in remote learning. The School Board will consider possible enhancements and improvements to the High School in-person schedule for the second semester at the December 21, 2020 Learning and Teaching committee meeting.

A Message from the Bullying Prevention Task Force

The Bullying Prevention Task Force continues to meet regularly to provide support and resources for the North Star Student Body related to maintaining and enhancing our positive school culture. One reminder to all students is how to access the D303 Anonymous Bullying Reporting form. This form can be found as an icon at the bottom of the home page at https://north.d303.org/. Also, students should be on the lookout for the annual Bullying Prevention Task Force survey which will be administered for its 5th year at the end of January 2021.
