Teach outstanding writing, punctuation and grammar!

Join us for half a day and see how you can teach grammar creatively in your classroom! We pride ourselves on having created an informative yet practical course for all to access.

After a few hours with us, you'll realise that grammar can be fun and that a whole-school approach will see standards rise in both writing and SPaG!

Read some of our fantastic testimonials:

"Never has grammar been so accessible or simple. A lifetime's education crammed into a day. I feel equipped and keen to be a grammar Jedi! Thank you!"

"A fantastic course! I had a great day singing about regular verbs to Bonnie Tyler and got scissor happy with some hands on activities for clauses, verb tenses and much more! Grammar can actually be fun! I highly recommend attending a Grammarsaurus course. Well worth it. However, you will be singing, "REGULAAAARRR!" for a long time afterwards... :)"

"The conference was informative and engaging. I loved the fact that it was practical; it gave us so many ideas to take back to the classroom. I would definitely recommend attending future events."

"Amazing training from Grammarsaurus at St Luke's tonight - exciting and practical ideas to use in the classroom. In fact it was so good that we have booked another session! Thanks Mitch :)"

Course overview

The Grammarsaurus Promise: This is not one of those courses where you sit and listen for hours. Each workshop has practical activities for you to take away and use the next day! Make sure your pencil is sharpened!

8:30 - 9:00 - Arrival and registration

9:00 – 9:45 – The Place Value of Grammar

Teachers can spend hours of unnecessary time focusing on areas of grammar, which have already been covered, whilst huge gaps remain uncovered. But where should you start? Can there be a whole-school approach to fix this? The Place Value of Grammar does this.

9:45 – 10:30 – Why so tense?

Bonnie Tyler, One Direction and the cast of Pitch Perfect can all work collectively to alleviate your tension. Discover how the use of song and rhyme can have your pupils recognising the difference between the past progressive, present progressive, past simple, present simple, past perfect, present perfect and future tenses.

10:30 - 10:45 – Coffee break

Tea, coffee and snacks available.

10:45 – 11:30 – Meeting Writing and SPaG ARE expectations in KS1

What’s a subordinating conjunction? Which co-ordinating conjunction can we use here? How can I make all of this memorable and enjoyable for 6 and 7 year olds?

The expectations for KS1 are higher than ever. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll not only have a blast improving your own understanding of grammar, but you’ll have a wide range of engaging activities to deliver the very next day!

11:30 – 12:30 – Meeting Writing and SPaG ARE expectations in KS2

How do I use the subjunctive form? What’s the difference between a preposition and a subordinating conjunction? Where should my comma go?

The expectations for KS2 are higher than ever. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll not only have a blast improving your own understanding of grammar, but you’ll have a wide range of engaging activities to deliver the very next day!

12:30 - 13:00 – Support, challenge and quality feedback.

How can I support my lower ability pupils to understand this? How can I challenge all pupils to meet this expectation?

This final workshop aims to provide you with a variety of approaches to support and challenge all pupils make good or better progress in writing, punctuation and grammar by looking at a range of differentiation techniques.
