December Newsletter
LHS Families and Community:
With a snap of the finger, it is December! There is so much to be proud of when we think of the past semester. Today we will celebrate the accomplishments of our fall activities and athletics, and we will send off our football team to compete in the Colorado State Championship game at Bronco Stadium! Crossing my fingers that we will achieve our second state title this year (Marching Band 4A) through the hard work of Coach Jeffries and his team! Go Red Wolves!
I want to thank our entire community for participating in the staff appreciation donation drive. We raised $7,500 which will go towards a great holiday event for staff and will fund staff appreciation for the second semester. Well done!
The thorn in our side continues to be students who choose to vape in the bathrooms. Whether you know or not if your student vapes, please talk to them about the safety hazard and sense of insecurity that it causes for other students and staff. Please randomly search their pockets and backpacks to ensure that your student is not bringing vape pens or any other illegal substances to school. We are constantly supervising bathrooms without success - your help is needed communicating your expectations at home as well.
We are in our last couple weeks of the semester. All teachers have communicated their expectations to students for turning in work, finishing out the semester, and final exams. The final exam schedule is posted in this newsletter. Note that on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons of that week, there is time for students to visit any teacher during teacher access time for additional support wherever students might need it.
Please continue to let us know how we can support your student throughout these last couple weeks! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Cheers to a very relaxing holiday season!
