Message from the New VMS Principal, Ms. Stephanie Taylor
Dear Viking Family,
It is an honor and pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of Vandeventer Middle School and to join this exceptional school community. I am very excited for the upcoming school year. Vandeventer Middle School is a school with persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a very supportive school community. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this school community and to be able to work to support the students and the families of our school.
I began my career in education in 1997 with Irving ISD after receiving my bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. After several years as a teacher and coach, I obtained my master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and continued in Irving as a middle school assistant principal. In 2006, I transitioned to Dallas ISD where I worked for the next twelve years in various leadership roles at the campus and central office levels, including a middle school principalship and the role of an executive director overseeing nine campuses. After adopting my daughter, I relocated to the Frisco area to be closer to family. I was fortunate enough to become part of the Frisco ISD community in August 2018, where I’m currently serving in the role of associate principal at Frisco High School.
I will bring a broad range of experiences in education to my role as principal of Vandeventer. I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the culture of the school in this coming year and in many years to come. Additionally, I cherish the belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions, and I am excited to unite this approach to leadership with my experiences and my openness to learn. I believe that relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of students, and I will become involved in every way possible with all stakeholders of Vandeventer Middle School.
I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. Together we will continue to move Vandeventer Middle School and its students to a positive present and toward a strong future.
I look forward to becoming part of the Viking family, and working with all of you in the near future.
CONGRATULATIONS VMS ART STUDENTS!

Announcements & Information from FISD
The Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is hosting the first-ever, Frisco ISD Family Wellness Festival. The event will be on Saturday, April 13 from 10am-1pm at Independence HS.
This is a free event for students, parents, and employees. The goal is to promote the Whole Child through a family event that raises awareness to vendors in the community that can support all parts of the whole child. Students and families will have the opportunity to run/walk laps for their elementary PE programs, participate in live fitness demos, and complete a Passport to Wellness to be entered in door prizes.
Positively impacting & advancing each student every day.
