Curiosity is a car-sized robotic rover exploring Gale Crater on Mars.
This 360-degree view, called the "McMurdo" panorama, comes from the panoramic camera (Pancam) on NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit.
PASADENA, Calif. -- NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, one of the twin rovers that bounced to airbag-cushioned safe landings on Mars nine years ago this week, is currently examining veined rocks on the rim of an ancient crater....THE MARS ROVER!
People who agree say they agree because it will be a big bang for the US.
And others dont agree say tey dont agree becuase it will be too much money when we could use that money for people.
NASA’s Science Mission Directorate (SMD) successfully launched three new space and Earth science missions designed to improve our understanding of solar processes, Earth system change, the nature of the universe, and the history of the solar system.
On December 14, 2009, NASA launched the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) spacecraft.
On January 5, 2010, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope's new infrared camera, the Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3), broke the distance limit for galaxies and uncovered a primordial population of compact and ultra-blue galaxies that have never been seen before.
Current Technology Speeds
The planet Mars is one of the brightest objects in the night sky, easily visible with the unaided eye as a bright red star. Every two years or so, Mars and Earth reach their closest point, called “opposition”, when Mars can be as close as 55,000,000 km from Earth.
The total journey time from Earth to Mars takes between 150-300 days depending on the speed of the launch, the alignment of Earth and Mars, and the length of the journey the spacecraft takes to reach its target. It really just depends on how much fuel you’re willing to burn to get there. More fuel, shorter travel time.
