Welcome Back
Hello From 6th Grade
Meet the Teachers
Hello From Mr. Tenbus
I am very pleased to say that we are off to a great start in math and science. I am excited for this trend to continue and to work with you all to see incredible growth in your child's academics.
In Math we are working in Module 2. This module deals with arithmetic operations with an emphasis on dividing fractions. Students have learned a KFC Method to perform this task. They will be able to explain this to you. Students also have been working in IXL math. This has a great selection of skills that students can practice at home on their level.
In Science class we are starting Unit 1, Investigating the Nature of Science and Technology. Students will be performing labs to help their understanding of the content. One of the main focuses will also be on vocabulary. Students will be receiving vocabulary words that they will need to study.
I look forward to working with you this year. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Welcome to 6th Grade! I will have your child for English Language Arts and Social Studies this year. We have an exciting year planned with some of the best novels to read! We will be reading Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Bud, Not Buddy as well as Wonder. All of these books have become favorites of sixth grade students! To begin Social Studies we will learn about different gods and goddesses and how their stories have affected the Greek people.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by phone or email. I also have a website that I will update with new news, pictures and daily homework assignments. You can find the website off of the Tri-Valley website. I have also linked it right here.
Thank you for your support, I am looking forward to a great year with your child!
