CGE November Newsletter

Hello CGE Families and Friends!

I am not sure where October went. We started October with our PTO sponsored Fall Fun Run and what a wonderful success it was! This is the only fundraiser our PTO does and so your contributions are so appreciated! We surpassed our goal of $30,000 ending up with $40,000 for our school community! I want to thank our volunteers who helped with planning the event and throughout the Fun Run day. The proceeds go right back to our students in multiple ways. Technology, books, instructional materials, equipement, etc. We are truly overwhelmed by our community’s generosity, and we are so grateful! THANK YOU!

On to November and with November comes election day , Veteran’s Day and Parent/Teacher Conferences. Each year we recognize Veteran’s Day to honor our military service members. This year students received a flyer asking for pictures of special Veterans and military service members. These pictures will be displayed in the commons on that day for students to view.

We will also be sending a virtual tribute with these pictures out to you since we are still limiting visitors in the building. Please be sure to label any pictures that you send in with your child’s name and teacher so that we can return the pictures after the program. This is always a special day at CGE!

As our weather begins to turn colder, please remember to send your children with appropriate gear that is labeled with their name. That is helpful if an item is lost. We will go outside every day unless it is below 0 degrees or if the windchill is -10 degrees. Thank you!

Enjoy November!

Conference changes - please read!

Conferences Nov. 11 and 18 : Due to the increased positive cases of COVID at CGE we have increased our mitigation protocols and we will be moving to virtual conferences only. Your time that you have signed up for does not have to change, unless for some reason it no longer works for you virtually. Please watch for the Zoom link to be sent out from your child’s teacher. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Be Well,

Students are encouraged, but not required, to bring in .25 donation. The money collected will be used to purchase TREATS for our TROOPS. Student council will be packaging our donations to send.

The word of the month for November is HONEST

Big picture
'If you describe someone as honest, you mean that they always tell the truth, and do not try to deceive people or break the law.”
Big picture
A game to practice honesty: Two truths and a lie! Have the students share 3 things about themselves. Two things that are true and one that is made up. Others try to guess what is true and what is the lie.
