Our Class of 2016 is going to JUNGLE RAPIDS and DEFY GRAVITY after the graduation ceremony.

Project Graduation needs your help raising money!!! All Seniors have been tasked with earning $50 in sponsorships so we can make this a fun and FREE event.

Reminder: Every Tuesday is Avid College shirt day. Remember to wear a college shirt on Tuesdays. The 2nd period with the most participants will win a prize.

There will be a Spring Break Kick Off during Power Hour on March 24 in the auditorium. Students will be displaying their musical talents in both A and B sessions. The sign up link can be found on our school website's home page. All material must be preapproved by Dr. McDuffie. Students who have referrals, been in ISS, or any had any other disciplinary action beginning March 1 will not be allowed to perform in the talent show.

Students who want to take AP exams can come by guidance and sign up for the one(s) they wish to take. March 22 is the deadline to order an exam.

This years Prom theme is Hollywood! So gentlemen get your suites and ties, Ladies get your formal dresses ready to go before May 21st. Prom will be from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Prom tickets are on sale for 30$ for a single and 50$ for couples for the month of March only. They price will increase in April. Come purchase them in room 505, Ms. Carden and room 507 Mrs. Goynes.

Any junior boy who is interested in attending the week long Boy’s state workshop should see Mrs. Barbee in guidance for more information.

If you did not pick yours up, Jostens will be coming back April 25th to deliver more cap and gowns.

There will be students in the cafeteria collecting donations for pasta for pennies all of this week and next week. Whichever class has the most donations, the class president gets to pie a teacher.


Northside has implemented Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) and we are excited about rewarding our students for the positive things they are doing every day. The Monarch Store is NOW OPEN during Power Hour for students to begin spending their Monarch Money!

STEM Fundraiser: Teachers, Parents, Students, if you will please bring in your used home printer cartridges, please recycle them with our academy to raise funds for field trips, work-based learning, competitions, SkillsUSA, etc. If you know of someone that owns a business and might have printer cartridges to donate, feel free to send their contact information so that we may contact them. You may send them to room 906, Mrs. Cobb. Thank you for your support with this fundraiser. *We may NOT collect used classroom/school printer cartridges.

STEM Academy is CURRENTLY taking applications for upperclassmen:

      1. 20 seats available for student graduating 2017 (current juniors)
      2. 15 seats available for student graduating 2018 (current sophomores)
      3. 10 seats available for student graduating 2019 (current freshmen)
      4. 75 seats available for student graduating 2020 (current 8th graders)
