Seasonal Foods
In the winter the men and boys hunted and trapped animals for fresh meat. The better hunters were gone for days at a time and hunted large animals like deer, elk and moose. Sometimes the families had more meat than they could eat so the women cut the meat into strips and dried them over a fire.
Winter Fun
In the winter children couldn't do as much as in other seasons so they find ways to entertain themselves. One way they did that was by going sledding downhill with toboggans. Other ways they entertained themselves was by chasing each other or by playing a game called snow-snake. This was a competition to see who could slide a wooden pole the farthest over snow. But at times it may have been to cold to go outside so the children went to the story teller and listened to stories retold over generations.
