Field Trip Info!

Final field trip information for our trip to Washington Farms will be coming home on Monday.

Tuesday we will be going to Washington Farms. Thursday we will be walking to Mtn. Park park for our "picnic in the park."

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and wears comfortable, close toed shoes. Also, please apply sunscreen BEFORE you send your child to school. Teachers cannot apply sunscreen.

End of Year Testing in Kindergarten

Kindergarten teachers are beginning to collect end of year data. Students will be assessed in reading, writing, and math. Therefore, there will be some days where reading groups are not held. If your child doesn't come home with a book, please continue nightly reading by reading library books or books from home. Thank you!

ABC Countdown!

We are having so much fun with our ABC countdown!

There are a few days where we would love some help. Please send a note in your child's folder or email if you can send something in.

P Day on 5/7: We would love to have popsicles on this day at the park! If you would like to donate popsicles please let me know.

What's coming up next week:

In reading, students will be learning about homonyms; words that sound the same but have different meanings. They will also be reviewing syllables, blending and segmenting words. For example, if you read the word CAT you would say C - AT, or if I said C - AT you would say CAT.

In writing, we will be reviewing how to write narrative pieces about ourselves. Students will complete their final writing sample for the year about their family.

In word work, we will be learning the new words: friend, going.

In math, we will be collecting data and graphing it! In addition, we will be doing many independent graphing activities. Students will also be assessed on math standards for their GKIDS report.

Items Needed:

Tissues: we only have two boxes left.

We go through about two boxes a week. If you can donate a box or two we would greatly appreciate it.
