December Data and Desserts
You are invited to join your child's class on Thursday, December 21st at 9:00 am. Students will be sharing their data binders, to look at all the progress they have made at this half-way point. This is also a time to visit and enjoy some sweet holiday treats. Classes would appreciate donations of goodies to share with classmates. Please check with your child's teacher about any food allergies. This day is also our Holiday Pajama Day, so feel free to join us in your favorite Holiday Pajamas
Photos with Santa
As a service to our families, our school photography company is offering an opportunity to take photos with Santa. Holiday photos will be on December 8th, pre-sale only, beginning at 10:15. If you have more than one student and would like for them to be photographed together, please write all their names on the same form.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
Our next PTA meeting is scheduled for December 12th, at 3:00. We invite all parents to attend. We will be planning for our Noche De Gala evening event. PTA will be selling some treats, so please support our PTA. PTA will also be coordinating the decorating for the event, and we would appreciate some volunteers.
Noche De Gala
Our Noche de Gala event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 19th at 5:30 pm. All classes, Pre-K-5th grades will be performing, as well as our after school mariachi and folklorico groups. We look forward to an evening of wonderful music and performances. Students should arrive by 5:15pm and report to their classroom. Students will stay with their teachers while waiting to perform and then return with their teachers to the classroom until the performance is finished. We ask that parents wait for the finale before picking up their child, so as not to disturb the other performers.
Counselor Corner
Hello families! This month we will be learning about perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.” We all experience challenges in our lives and have moments when we feel like we can't do it, or that we want to give up. Students will develop tools to help them work through those challenging moments in order to grow instead of giving up. In the classroom students will practice setting goals, focusing on tasks, active participation in school, and organization of time and tasks. I look forward to a productive and positive month.
