Love Without Borders Livestream
Our community partner, Refugees Helping Refugees, will host a Facebook Livestream Event this Thursday, December 17th from 7:00-8:00 pm as part of its Love Without Borders campaign. Join us as we listen to the stories of the co-founder and a client/student, listen/read-along to a poem, and watch a special film.
This symposium is for educators of emergent multilingual learners in early childhood: Early childhood educators including pre-school and pre-kindergarten, as well as grade K-3 teachers, directors, and staff from both public and private early learning programs. Mid-State RBERN is accepting proposals for virtual presentations that highlight outstanding and innovative practices related to early education for ELLs/MLs in the following strands:
- Early Literacy
- ELLs with Disabilities
- Parent Engagement
- Social-Emotional Learning
- Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education
- Technology/Virtual Classroom Support
- Content Area Specific Topics
- Topics and Information for Program Directors
- Additional Areas of Focus

Q: In terms of ELL Identification, which students are eligible for a language proficiency team (LPT)
A: An LPT can be formed to determine the status of new entrants or re-entering students who:
- were identified in NYS as a preschool student with disabilities and is eligible for special education as a school age student
OR
- come from other states in the U.S (Including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico) with both an identified disability and an IEP.
