WNHS Graduation Program Selection
July 6, 2020
Seniors MUST make a program choice....
It's time to pick your particular style of graduation. Each Senior student was emailed a Google form which requires that they pick one of the 3 following options for their specific graduation program choice. The 3 different choices are described below. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOUR SENIOR COMPLETE THIS FORM. STUDENTS THAT DO NOT COMPLETE THE FORM WILL BE CONSIDERED AS NOT PARTICIPATING IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY! If your student did not receive the email with the form, please contact ppodgorski@wcusd200.org .
Please remember that all fees, fines, and obligations must be paid before a student can participate in any graduation option, or receive their diploma or transcripts.
Option #1: Small group graduation ceremony
The specific details of this ceremony are:
- Each student will be assigned a ceremony time based on the last name of each student. Ceremonies will have 40 students each and will begin in the afternoon and continue into the evening as needed.
- It will take place on the track. A normal graduation stage will be set up.
- Students and family members will be placed into 2 separate areas near the track.
- Each student may only have 2 family members of their choice accompany them into the ceremony.
- Students will walk down the track and across the stage as their name is read, walking to the song of Pomp and Circumstance.
- Family members will be allowed to stand directly in front of the stage while the student receives their diploma cover and take pictures while there.
- This ceremony will be live-streamed so that anyone may watch each student as they cross the stage.
- Students and their family members will rejoin at the south end of the bleachers, pick up all final documents at the gate, and leave the stadium area.
- Social distancing will be required throughout the time in the stadium.
Option #2: Drive up graduation ceremony
The specific details of this ceremony are:
- Each student will be assigned a time slot. Ceremonies will begin in the morning and continue throughout the morning as needed.
- Graduates will drive up in their cars with their family members.
- Graduates should plan to sit near a car door so that they can exit the car easily. All other family members are expected to remain in the car.
- Only one family member can also step out of the car to take photos.
- Students will progress across the same stage we always use for graduation to collect their diploma cover.
- After stepping down from the stage, students will collect a folder of final documents.
- Students will then get back into the car and must exit the school lot. All exiting vehicles must leave through the bus entrance. Vehicles may not remain in the school parking lots.
Option #3: Student does not wish to participate
Students may choose to not participate in the graduation ceremony. Diplomas and final paperwork will be mailed to the address listed on the selection form that was emailed to all the senior students.
What about all the speeches and music?
All other parts of the ceremony will be pre-recorded and available throughout the day on July 25 through our You-Tube channel.
