MEET COUNTRY DALE'S NEW STAFF FOR 2021-22

KATIE DAHL - 6TH GRADE TEACHER

Hello Country Dale Community! My name is Katie Dahl, and I am beyond excited to be a part of the Franklin School district this year.

I have taught various age levels for over ten years now. I spent two years teaching abroad in Taiwan and nine years in Shorewood. This coming school year I am proud to be welcomed as a fifth-grade teacher here at Country Dale.

I know the importance of forming relationships and challenging students to be the best both inside and outside of the classroom. I can not wait to bring my creative side and love of travel into Room 33! It's going to be a great year!

ABBY DERKSEN - CROSS CATEGORICAL TEACHER

Hello Country Dale Families! My name is Abby Derksen and I am so excited to get to meet and work with your kids this coming school year. In May 2019, I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor’s in Communication Science and Disorders with an emphasis in Special Education. More recently, I graduated from UW-Whitewater last May with a Master’s of Science in Education degree with the goal to become a Special Education Teacher. This will be my first year teaching and I am hoping to bring some positive energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. We are going to have an incredible school year!

This year I have the pleasure of working with Country Dale’s 2nd and 3rd grade team to best support the students. I very much look forward to working with the teams and getting to know all the students!

I’m grateful for this opportunity to join the Country Dale team as well as the Franklin Public Schools community. If you see me around the school, please stop and say hi!

GO COUGARS!

During my free time, I love to spend time with my family, snowboard, workout, and snuggle with my 180 pound Great Dane named Lambeau!

I have two children currently in the Franklin Public Schools. My son Teagan will be a sophomore this year and my daughter Taylor will be in 7th grade.

I am looking forward to a new and exciting school year!!
