Takoma Park MS Community Newsletter
Week of October 24th
Dear TPMS Families,
I decided to break from tradition and send out the newsletter this morning to include pictures from our fabulous International and Cultural Heritage Night. Last night our PTSA, with the support of our student leadership groups (Difference Makers, Minority Scholars, and SGA) held an excellent International and Cultural Heritage Night! We had over 400 attendees and enjoyed displays, cuisine and performances from countries around the world.
Our Student Government Association will be coordinating our next two school events. On Thursday, October 27th, the SGA will be hosting a Halloween Dance from 3:15-4:15pm. Tickets will be on sale this week. Additionally, students can change into their costumes after school if they choose to wear costumes to the dance. During the week of October 31st, the SGA is coordinating a Spirit Week! The daily themes are still being planned and will be communicated to students and families later next week. Students may wear costumes to school on Monday, October 31st. Costumes must be school appropriate (no weapons or facsimiles or inappropriate dress, nothing political or culturally insensitive, etc.).
Have a wonderful three day weekend and we will see our scholars again on Tuesday!
Sincerely,
Erin Martin
