Second Grade Update
We had a great second week of school! In our daily morning meetings, we greeted each other in different languages (ask your child about these new greetings!) and learned about self-control. In math, we started discussing place value and different ways to show a number. In science, we designed an experiment to determine plants' needs, and then we planted our own plants. We will be helping them grow and measuring their growth. In language arts, we discussed inside and outside character traits. We practiced capitalization and punctuation in our writing.
Good scientists ask questions!
We observed the changes taking place in the outdoor learning center.
We practiced using teamwork to conquer the cup challenge.
Noticing leaf prints
We drew diagrams of the leaves that were leaving imprints on the concrete.
Don't forget that Monday is a holiday! We will meet again on Tuesday. Enjoy your break!
